Helium Resources Limited (HRL) established in 2015, supported by MDOIL Limited and its highly experienced exploration group with specific helium expertise is tasked with seeking commercial accumulations of helium.

Helium occurs in low abundance in most natural gases. It is however seldom activity explored for and its presence is often missed as most gas analysis at the well site or subsequent tests in laboratories use helium as a carrier gas in chromatographic compositional analysis.

Despite being the second most common element in the Universe it is extremely rare on Earth and only in exceptional circumstances does it occur is sufficient abundance to be commercially exploited.

Helium Resources Limited has identified several localities where higher levels of the gas are thought to be present due to a unique set of geological circumstances and a corresponding atypical gas compositional data. The company is activity exploring these anomalies, where governments permit to determine whether these occurrences are economic.

Typically natural gas from the Southern Gas basin, North Sea contains less than 0.05% helium which is not exploitable. In the US there have been several discoveries where helium presence is in two orders of magnitude greater than that of the North Sea. For instance in Spindletop, Texas helium comprises 1.86% of the produced natural gas. Qatari natural gas contains some 0.3% helium which without the large LNG business would be uneconomical to develop.

Recent finds in Tanzania have been found to be very rich in helium and seismic imaging is underway to locate and map reservoir potential.

HRL's team comprising of geologist, geophysicists, geochemists and scientists have many years' experience in exploration of natural gas and the identification of likely occurrences, detection of and characterisation of helium occurrences though isotope and gas compositional data and geological thinking.
